It’s time to say ‘bye’ to HK and fly to Bangkok, Thailand!
Our apartment ended up being much farther from the city center than we’d envisioned. Sure, we thought we were smart, picking a spot along a metro line—but in Bangkok, the only metro line that really matters is the circular blue M-line. We, however, landed ourselves on the yellow Skyline, which felt more like a detour than a convenience. Every trip meant juggling multiple transfers, each requiring a separate ticket and a fresh dent in the wallet.
Taking a taxi turned out to cost about the same as public transport—except Grab, Bangkok’s version of Uber, had a knack for canceling on us. Consistently. Curtesy of our location? As a result, getting into the city turned into a nearly two-hour odyssey, complete with equal parts frustration and exhaustion.
