Jan 7, 2025 – Chiang Mai, Thailand

Took a nice stroll to Angkaew Reservoir, nested in the backdrop of the Chiang Mai University. Naturally, we had to make a pit stop at Wat Chiang Yeun on the way—how can you not? These temples are like potato chips; you can’t stop at just one. Every time I think I’ve seen enough, another one winks at me with its beauty.

The Huay Kaew road that we took to the reservoir was a more developed one, lining with lots of hotels, nice restaurants and a big mall.

I’ve got a soft spot for student campuses, and CMU didn’t disappoint. It’s sprawling, with enough faculties to make Hogwarts jealous. There’s something about the academic buzz that makes me want to grab a notebook and pretend I’m late for class.

On the way back, we rewarded our noble journey with a pit stop at Longhua restaurant. Mala and shoyu soups? Absolute flavor bombs. To top it all off, we stopped at Momoyo for some super-affordable (15 Baht!) matcha and vanilla ice cream. Yes, 15 Baht—I almost felt like I was stealing it. A sweet end to a day full of scenic strolling and tastebud-tingling.
