Jan 15, 2025 – Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

Walked to Saigon opera house to buy tickets for 1/16 “AO Show Bamboo Circus” performance.

We then visited the War Remnants Museum—a deeply moving and educational experience. The exhibits were heavy, but they offered valuable perspective. I couldn’t stop marveling at how Saigon and Hanoi have not only recovered but thrived. Standing in these lively cities today, it’s hard to imagine the scars of war beneath the surface. Resilience truly runs deep in this nation.

Next, we strolled over to Bến Thành Market for lunch. Marat went classic with Pho Bo, while D and I opted for Wonton Noodle Soup. The food was satisfying, but the market itself felt a bit too geared toward tourists for our taste. We’re more into spots where the locals shop.

From there, we wandered to Nguyễn Huệ Walking Street. It had all the makings of… well, just a regular street. Some construction in the middle seemed like it might’ve been a work-in-progress attraction, but for now, it left us guessing. The street did lead us to the Saigon River, though, where we enjoyed a peaceful stroll along its banks before heading home. Sometimes, the journey is more memorable than the destination!
