Spent the day in Malacca with zero plans—just letting the city happen. First stop: the Malacca Tower revolving ride. Got some great views of land and sea, and by “great,” I mean we spotted everything… including a Burger King. Naturally, Daniel couldn’t resist. Junk food cravings = strong.
Next, we wandered over to Dutch Square, where everything’s painted red like a historical Instagram filter. The Stadthuys (aka City Hall, aka a place with a lot of Dutch history), and Christ Church Melaka looked straight out of a postcard.
After that, we strolled along the Malacca River. Picture this: colorful buildings, riverside cafes, food courts everywhere. Basically, an influencer’s dream. We popped into the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple—it was busy with people burning joss paper and incense sticks as worshipers prepare for Chinese New Year.
Then, Jonker Street Market happened, and ice cream called Danie’s name (as it often does). Followed by Mee Tarik (beef hand-pulled noodle soup), which was hand-pulled right in front of us like some kind of noodle wizardry. Honestly, the noodle guy deserves an award.
We wrapped it up by snapping a few pics with a statue of a legendary Malaysian bodybuilder (because why not?), followed by some Vietnamese coconut iced coffee and… more photos. Because in Malacca, you just have to take pictures of everything.
Masjid Selat Melaka – aka the Floating Mosque. Went at night. It’s like the mosque is just casually chillin’ on the water, flexing a view so beautiful, it might just make you rethink your whole life.
