A day tour to Chiang Rai: White Temple, Blue Temple and Black House.
Wat Rong Suea Ten (loosely translated as the Temple of the Dancing Tiger Jumping over River, or something like that, based on what we were told by our guide), or The Blue Temple – another striking masterpiece. It was designed by the local artist Phuttha Kabkaew, who was a student of Chalermchai Kositpipat (remember the White Temple?).
While the grounds are much smaller than that of the White Temple, The Blue Temple stands in its own right in its beauty and near mystical appearance. Our guide told us that the recent flood from the Kok River damaged parts of the Blue Temple but the restoration work has been done. We could see some parts of the temple’s blue color washed off but overall, The Blue Temple looked absolutely stunning.
