March 30, 2025 – Rotorua, New Zealand

Just hopped on a flight from Wellington to Rotorua, NZ. Gave the dragon at the airport a heartfelt goodbye—no tears, just a little misty-eyed—and off we went.

First stop? Kuirau Park! Oh, what a treat. Thermal mud pools that look like they belong in a witch’s cauldron, hot springs that could cook an egg (but we didn’t test that theory), and, wait for it—free thermal foot baths. Naturally, we slipped off our shoes and soaked in the steamy goodness. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to wind down.

And as for trying exotic fruits, today we got our first taste of feijoa, courtesy of our lovely host. It was like biting into a fruit salad in a single bite—strawberry, apple, and a little zesty citrus action. Delicious? Absolutely. Would we eat it again? Oh, you bet.
