Oct 3, 2024 – Sofia, Bulgaria

Walked through the city towards St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Stopped on the way to check a couple of gym/swimming pool places for me to work out and for D to practice swimming – one of them was closed, the other one was too far away from us.

  • On our walk, we also stopped at the National Palace of Culture, or The NDK park, – nothing interesting. Nice square, young people hang out in the area but nothing else. This venue is mostly used for concerts, must be busy at night.
  • In the city center we had freshly squeezed pomegranate juice in the local shop. Bought raspberries, blackberries and quince (haven’t had that one in a couple of years!)
  • Finally got to the Cathedral, went inside. It’s one of the most beautiful iconic buildings in Sofia, easily recognizable from any postcard.
  • On the way back, we checked out Inergy Fitness & Spa Center 20 min away from us. Looks like this would be our “home” gym in Bulgaria.
